• Sailing up to Northern Wales

June 30 – July 3 2021 After a night in Solva we left Pembrokeshire and sailed up to Northern Wales, or not really sailed. It was no wind so we mostly used the engine. The days before there had been northerly winds and in the upcoming days it would be northerly again so we choose to sail this day anyway. We sailed overnight and in the morning there was some fog. We arrived late morning to the entrance to Menai strait. A narrow strait which is very much affected by the tidal currents. This day we would only sail a short distance, to Caernofon, in the strait and not through…

  • Exploring Solva

June 29-30, 2021 After 2 nights in Porthlysgi bay we decided to sail the short distance to Solva. We wanted to sail up northern Wales but the winds were not so good so we decided to sail to Solva and wait for better winds. We went ashore in the evening and watch the European championship in football Sweden vs Ukraine, unfortunately Sweden lost and out of the championship. But we had a few beers and then returned to the boats. Here is the YouTube video from our time in Pembrokeshire, we speak Swedish mostly in our videos but all have English subtitles.

  • Anchoring Pembrokeshire

    Anchoring in Pembrokeshire

June 27-29, 2021 After a couple of days in Milford Haven we left the marina and headed a bit north in Pembrokeshire. We sailed up to Porthlysgi Bay where we anchored together with Sanuti. We took a walk from the bay to the town St Davids, which is the smallest city in Europe. What we understood is that it is only a city because it has a cathedral.

  • Enter UK with sailboat after Brexit

June 24-27, 2021 Our process to enter UK with our sailboat included both Brexit and Covid-19 – procedures.  We sailed to UK the summer 2021 and this was first summer after UK officially left EU. We took information from Noonsite about how the process would be. Since things might change over time, it is hard to write something here that will be valid in the future. Our best tip is to look at a site like Noonsite or contact authorities. But we will still summarize how our entry process looked like.  Covid-19 We sailed during the pandemic and if we stayed 10 days or more on international waters we didn’t…

Sailing from the Azores to UK

After we had been on the Azores a couple of weeks it was time for us to start sailing to the UK. We started sailing from the Azores to UK June 11th. We left the Azores in June so that we would be able to make it back home to Sweden before August. We started working again September 1st and wanted to have some spare time so we wouldn’t have to stress for the last part of the sail. We also wanted to arrive to Sweden before the Swedish summer ended. Day 0 – June 11, 2021 After the drama with the autopilot, when we started our sail to UK,…
