Test run of swing/lifting keel function on our sailboat

Our sailboat has a swing/lifting keel that is quite unique and it was time for us to do a test-run to see if it worked.

In this episode we double-check some thing on the generator, before we order parts for our electrical system renewal. We also brought some thing so we could do a test run of our swing keel. With the keel in its upright position we have a draft of 1.75 meters (5.7 ft) compared to 3 meters (9.8 ft) when in its downward position. If this function works as it should it will broaden our options of where we could anchor in the future.

We are Thomas and Petra and late August 2020 we left Sweden to start our first sailing adventure. We sailed for a year to the Caribbean and back again. October 2023 we bought a new sailboat, a Wasa 530 that is need of some renovation.
